10th and 11th of March, 2017- Disaster Mitigation Awareness Camp at Hatisar-Dadgiri, Chirang (BTAD), Assam-
On 10th and 11th of March, 2017, Priyobondhu Social Welfare Society, in collaboration with the Forest Department and under the esteemed patronage of the Bodo Territorial Council, organized a transformative Disaster Mitigation Awareness Camp at Hatisar-Dadgiri, Chirang (BTAD), Assam. The event was a resounding success, with 604 individuals from the rural community coming together to participate in this vital program aimed at reducing disaster risks.
The primary goal of the camp was to raise awareness and equip the local population with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively manage the threats posed by both natural and manmade disasters. With a focus on minimizing the loss of life, livelihoods, and property, the camp served as a vital platform for empowering individuals to take proactive measures in the face of impending disasters.
Through a series of interactive sessions, participants were provided with practical guidance on disaster preparedness, resilience building techniques, and emergency response protocols. The program emphasized the importance of community collaboration, early detection, and swift action in mitigating the impacts of potential disasters, fostering a culture of self reliance and cohesive action among the residents.
By the conclusion of the camp, attendees were not only more knowledgeable about the risks they face but were also better prepared to face challenges, ensuring that they could protect themselves, their families, and their communities from harm. This program exemplifies the commitment to building a resilient society, capable of tackling the adversities posed by both natural and human-induced disasters, ultimately fostering a sense of safety, security, and empowerment for all.
