Let Us Talk
Let Us Talk - Menstrual Hygiene Management
Menstruation is a natural biological process experienced by all adolescent girls and women, yet social stigma and silence often prevent open discussion and proper awareness. The 'Let Us Talk' - Menstrual Hygiene Management, initiative aims to break these barriers by educating adolescent girls about menstruation before menarche, helping them understand the biological changes and adopt safe, hygienic menstrual practices.
The program also works to ensure that girls have access to affordable and hygienic menstrual absorbents, adequate water and sanitation facilities, private and safe toilets in schools, and proper systems for the safe disposal of used menstrual products. Through awareness sessions, community engagement and distribution of essential resources, the initiative empowers adolescent girls and women with knowledge, confidence, and dignity, while challenging harmful taboos and promoting a healthier, more supportive environment for menstrual health and well-being.

Loudly NO - Awareness Program on Sexual Harassment and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Management
'Loudly NO' is an awareness and empowerment program designed to educate and equip girls with the knowledge and confidence to recognize, prevent, and respond to sexual harassment. The initiative focuses on helping girls understand personal boundaries, identify inappropriate behavior, and assert their right to say 'NO' with confidence and dignity. By promoting respect for their choices and strengthening their sense of self-worth, the program empowers participants to protect themselves and make informed decisions.
The program also raises awareness about the different forms and settings of sexual harassment, its psychological and social consequences, and the steps that can be taken when such incidents occur. It provides guidance on appropriate responses, legal rights and remedies, and available support systems. In addition, the initiative includes self-defense training and basic awareness on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and coping mechanisms, helping participants build resilience, emotional strength, and the ability to recover from traumatic experiences. Through 'Loudly NO,' Priyobondhu strives to create a safer and more aware society where girls can live with confidence, dignity, and empowerment.

Humanitarian Relief
Assam experiences severe flooding almost every year, causing widespread devastation across many regions. Floodwaters submerge villages, destroy homes and livelihoods, and leave communities stranded without access to essential resources such as food, clean water, and basic supplies. The aftermath of floods often leads to acute food shortages, loss of livestock, and increased risk of waterborne diseases due to contaminated water sources.
Since its inception, Priyobondhu has been actively engaged in providing humanitarian relief to flood-affected communities across Assam. During times of crisis, the organization distributes essential relief materials to support vulnerable families, particularly women, children, and pregnant mothers.
Special relief kits are prepared to address the needs of pregnant women and young children, containing essential food items and care supplies such as rice, pulses, soybeans, milk, water bottles, biscuits, sago (sabu), flattened rice, puffed rice, soap, sanitary napkins, undergarments, baby care kits, newborn clothing, and baby napkins. Additionally, hygiene kits for women and girls are distributed, including sanitary napkins, undergarments, and other basic necessities to support their health and dignity during emergencies.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Priyobondhu also extended its humanitarian response by distributing food supplies, hygiene materials, and protective essentials to vulnerable families affected by the crisis. Through these relief efforts, the organization remains committed to supporting communities in times of disaster and helping them cope with emergencies with dignity and care.

Sustainable Livelihood
In many communities, women and girls continue to face social and economic barriers that limit their participation in decision-making and opportunities for financial independence. Often confined to household responsibilities and dependent on others for economic support, they remain excluded from meaningful livelihood opportunities.
To address these challenges, Priyobondhu implements skill-building and livelihood development initiatives aimed at empowering women and girls. Through vocational training programs and community-based events, the organization helps marginalized women acquire practical skills, enhance their confidence, and create pathways for gainful self-employment. These initiatives promote self-reliance, economic empowerment, and improved quality of life for women and their families.

SETONA – Mother and Child Health Care
SETONA is a community based health initiative designed to promote awareness and improve access to Mother and Child Health (MCH) services. The project focuses on educating communities about maternal and child health, while facilitating access to various MCH schemes and services provided by the Government. Through awareness programs, health education, and community engagement, SETONA aims to strengthen primary healthcare understanding and encourage healthier practices for mothers and children.
The project seeks to reduce infant, neonatal, under-five, and maternal mortality rates by promoting awareness on essential healthcare practices such as antenatal care, postnatal care, immunization, nutrition, and hygiene. It also works to enhance mothers’ knowledge and capacity to care for the health and nutritional needs of their children.
In addition, the program engages public health supervisors, traditional birth attendants, village community members, and family members, strengthening their understanding of maternal and child health responsibilities and improving community-level health support systems. SETONA also raises awareness about family planning methods, promotes cleanliness and hygiene, and encourages the integration of traditional and modern healthcare practices.
By informing communities about available government health schemes and guiding them on how to access these services, SETONA aims to ensure that mothers and children receive the care, support, and protection necessary for a healthy and dignified life.

Breakfast for a Child
Breakfast for a Child - Children’s Breakfast Program
'Breakfast for a Child' is a nutrition initiative by Priyobondhu aimed at addressing child hunger and improving the health and learning capacity of underprivileged children. Recognizing that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, the program provides a daily nutritious breakfast to children before they attend school, ensuring they begin their day with adequate energy and nourishment.
A healthy breakfast plays a crucial role in improving concentration, memory, school attendance, and academic performance. Through this program, children receive balanced meals that include nutrient-rich foods such as whole grains, fruits, and dairy products, helping them maintain better nutritional health and supporting their physical and cognitive development.
Child hunger remains a critical challenge that can severely affect a child’s ability to learn, grow, and thrive. Lack of proper nutrition often leads to fatigue, poor academic performance, developmental delays, and increased risks of health and behavioral issues. By providing consistent and healthy breakfasts, Priyobondhu aims to reduce hunger among vulnerable children, support their well-being, and create a stronger foundation for their education and future.
