April 26, 2017- Meal Program at Destination Home for Mentally Retarded Persons and Children, Kahilipara, Guwahati-
Archana Borthakur's commitment to improving the lives of marginalized and vulnerable communities extends to individuals with mental disabilities. In collaboration with various local organizations, Archana initiated a meal program at Destination Home in Kahilipara, Guwahati, a home dedicated to mentally retarded persons and children.
The primary goal of this initiative was to ensure that these individuals, who often face neglect and poverty, receive adequate and nutritious meals daily. Archana's program aimed to provide a balanced and healthy diet to improve the physical and emotional well-being of the residents of Destination Home, helping to meet their unique dietary and nutritional needs.
The meal program also aimed to provide a sense of dignity and care for the residents, as the regular provision of meals ensured that they did not go hungry and felt supported by the community. By partnering with local volunteers and stakeholders, the program fosters an atmosphere of inclusion and respect for those with special needs.
Archana and her team of dedicated volunteers work closely with the staff at Destination Home to monitor the dietary requirements of each individual. This ensures that every person receives personalized attention and appropriate nutritional support, addressing the physical challenges that individuals with mental disabilities often face.
This initiative is part of Archana's broader mission to address the needs of underserved communities, providing a safety net for those who are often forgotten by society. Through the meal program at Destination Home, Archana continues to make a profound difference in the lives of those who need it most.
