On September 10, 2017, Priyobondhu carried out the 4th phase of its flood relief operations in Morigaon district, reaching the severely affected villages of Kathani Palashguri, Kathani Garakhahiakhuti, and Kathani Jatiabori (Tulsibori). During this phase, a total of 213 flood-affected families received essential relief assistance to support their immediate recovery and daily survival needs.
The relief kits distributed comprised vital food items such as rice, pulses, sugar, salt, jaggery, biscuits, flattened rice, puffed rice, and drinking water. To address hygiene, sanitation, and safety concerns, items including soaps, phenol, bleaching powder, mosquito coils, candles, and matchboxes were provided. Special attention was given to the needs of women and adolescent girls through the distribution of clothes and undergarments. Additionally, buckets were supplied to facilitate safe water storage and collection, helping families maintain basic sanitation during the post-flood period.
This phase of the relief operation played a significant role in restoring stability and dignity to the affected communities as they continued to recover from the impact of the floods.
