Addressing Hunger, One Family at a Time

COVID-19 Crisis Response- Panikhaiti

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the state of food security became alarmingly fragile, demanding urgent and collective action. On the ground, Priyobondhu witnessed the distressing realities faced by daily wage earners whose livelihoods were severely disrupted by the lockdown. For many families, hunger and uncertainty became a harsh daily reality often affecting people within our own neighbourhoods.

Responding to this humanitarian need, Priyobondhu distributed essential grocery kits to 152 vulnerable families in Panikhaiti, helping ensure that food reached those who needed it most during this critical period.

The organization expresses sincere gratitude to the Smart Protection Unit of Assam Police for their steadfast support. Special appreciation is also extended to Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, IPS, Director General of Police, Assam, for his continued encouragement and involvement.

Priyobondhu also acknowledges every compassionate contributor whose support strengthened this mission of hope, solidarity, and humanity.
