Assamese cuisine is as distinctive and vibrant as the state’s rich culture and colorful way of life. Known for its simplicity, freshness, and healthfulness, this culinary tradition holds immense potential for livelihood generation.

With the aim of making this traditional art commercially viable, Priyobondhu Social Welfare Society organized an Assamese Traditional Food Competition, 2025 at Geetanagar Field on April 13, 2025. The initiative was designed to promote employment-oriented skill development and encourage self-employment among individuals, especially women, who possess traditional culinary expertise.

Through this platform, the organization sought to motivate traditional food artisans to bring their skills into the mainstream market rather than keeping this valuable art confined within household kitchens.
