An awareness program on Safe and Unsafe Touch was conducted at Kailashpur LP School, Narakasur Hills, Kahilipara, Guwahati. The program aimed to educate children about personal safety, body boundaries, and the importance of recognizing appropriate and inappropriate behaviour.
The key objective of the program was to help children understand safe, reasonable, and permissible ways in which others may behave towards them. It also focused on building their confidence to respond appropriately when someone crosses those boundaries. The session emphasized empowering children to respect their own choices, understand their rights over their bodies, and confidently say “No” when they feel uncomfortable. Special focus was also given to empowering girls through basic self-defence awareness.
The session was highly interactive, with active participation from both children and their guardians, creating an open environment for discussion and learning.
A compelling awareness session and speech was delivered by Nimi Borgohain, Chief Clinical Psychologist, GNRC, who shared valuable insights on child psychology, safety awareness, and the role of parents and community in protecting children.
