COVID-19 Crisis Response- April 26, 2020
Reaching the Unseen, Serving the Unheard ..
On April 26, 2020, as part of our continued response to the COVID-19 crisis, Priyobondhu extended support to 87 families facing acute food insecurity. Relief was provided to 62 families residing in the remote Hengerabari Lichubagan Hilltop area and 25 families from Hanuman Nagar Basti, Narengi.
Each relief kit was thoughtfully prepared to meet essential nutritional and hygiene needs. It included rice, dal, mustard oil, potatoes, onions, bathing soaps, and sanitary napkins for women.
This initiative was made possible with the invaluable support of the Smart Protection Unit of Assam Police, led by Premananda Kakoty, whose cooperation ensured safe and efficient distribution. We also express our heartfelt gratitude to Shri Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, IPS, Director General of Police, Assam, for his encouragement, and to all the compassionate individuals who contributed towards providing these life-sustaining essentials.
It may be a small gesture in the face of a global crisis, but each family reached is a step closer to ensuring no one sleeps hungry.
