On February 28, 2019, Priyobondhu conducted an awareness camp in the slum areas of Narengi Carbon Gate, Guwahati, focusing on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), Mother and Child Health Care (MCH), and the Importance of Education.
The program aimed to educate community members, especially women and parents, on safe menstrual hygiene practices, maternal and child healthcare, nutrition, and the long-term importance of education for children. The initiative also emphasized the role of education in breaking the cycle of poverty and improving overall quality of life.
The camp received enthusiastic support from a youth volunteer group comprising students from Assam Downtown University, NERIM, and Shrimanta Shankar Academy, who actively assisted in awareness activities and distribution support.
As part of the humanitarian support initiative, essential items were distributed, including:
Sanitary napkins for women
Men’s clothing
Women’s garments
Children’s clothing
The program strengthened community awareness while providing immediate support to vulnerable families, reinforcing Priyobondhu’s commitment to health, education, and social welfare.
