Empowering Women and Promoting Traditional Culinary Arts at Rongali Festival.

In addition to the Assamese Traditional Food Competition held at the Rongali Festival, Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati, Assam from January 19-21, 2018, Priyobondhu provided a platform for 8 food artisans, with a focus on women, by allotting them food stalls to showcase their culinary skills. These artisans served over 100 varieties of traditional and fast foods, celebrating the rich and diverse flavors of Assamese cuisine.

The motive behind this initiative was to encourage self employment among skilled individuals, particularly women, by giving them the opportunity to commercialize their cooking art. The goal was not only to promote traditional food but also to empower these artisans by offering them the means to turn their culinary talent into a sustainable livelihood.

Priyobondhu remains committed to uplifting and supporting women and traditional food artisans, creating avenues for them to grow their skills and thrive in the marketplace.

Priyobondhu is dedicated to preserving Assamese food culture while empowering the talented women who bring it to life.
