October 2, 2016- Health Awareness Program-K N O W C A N C E R at Ouphulia, Tingkhang, Dibrugarh, Assam

As part of its ongoing commitment to community health and preventive care, Priyobondhu organized a comprehensive health awareness and screening program titled “K N O W C A N C E R” at Ouphulia, Tingkhang, located in the Dibrugarh district of Assam.

The program aimed to spread awareness about early detection, prevention, and treatment of cancer, with a special focus on breast, cervical, and oral cancers-which continue to be among the most common yet preventable forms of cancer in the region. Residents of Ouphulia and nearby villages participated in large numbers, reflecting a growing public interest in health education and proactive screening.

The initiative featured expert sessions from qualified medical professionals, who provided detailed information on identifying early symptoms, adopting healthy lifestyle practices, and the importance of regular medical check-ups. The camp also offered free screening services, particularly for women, helping detect possible symptoms and refer suspected cases for further medical intervention.

This program is a part of Priyobondhu’s broader mission to make healthcare education accessible to underserved communities, empower individuals through knowledge and awareness, and reduce the burden of cancer through early diagnosis and timely care.

The event saw positive community engagement and marked another impactful step towards building a healthier, more informed rural population in Assam.
