Priyobondhu Continues Its Decade Long Flood Relief Mission Across Assam

For over a decade, Priyobondhu has remained steadfast in its commitment to serving the people of Assam during times of natural disasters. Since 2015, we are consistently been on the ground, responding to flood emergencies and extending immediate relief to affected families across the state.
This year's floods have taken a particularly devastating turn in the districts of Sivasagar and Jorhat, bringing unprecedented destruction to several villages. Local residents have described the situation as one of the worst they have ever witnessed, with widespread inundation, damaged homes, displacement of families, and severe disruption to daily life.
Responding swiftly to the crisis, Priyobondhu's volunteers and relief teams have been working tirelessly in the affected regions, delivering essential humanitarian assistance to those in urgent need. Relief materials, including food supplies and other necessities, are being distributed directly to flood-affected families.
On 22 July 2026, Priyobondhu successfully conducted a major relief distribution programme in Teok, providing immediate assistance to 127 flood-affected families. The initiative aimed to ensure that vulnerable households received timely support as they continue to face the hardships caused by the ongoing floods.
As floodwaters continue to affect several parts of Assam, Priyobondhu has reaffirmed its commitment to standing beside affected communities until normalcy is restored. The organization remains dedicated to reaching the most vulnerable populations and providing humanitarian assistance wherever it is needed most.
For Priyobondhu, disaster relief is not merely a response to an emergency it is a continuing commitment to humanity, compassion, and service.
