Strengthening its continued commitment to post-flood recovery in Upper Assam, Priyobondhu, led by Founder Archi Barthakur carried forward its Priyobondhu Restoration Project by extending essential relief and recovery support to 42 flood-affected families in Hulang Katoni, Sivasagar, on 7 August 2026.

The relief package was carefully prepared to address the immediate food, household, hygiene, clothing, and personal needs of families continuing to face difficulties in the aftermath of the floods.

Each family received a package containing dry rations, 2 pillows, 2 pillow cushions, 1 sleeping mat, 1 bedsheet, 2 pillow covers, 1 saree, 1 shawl, 1 panty, 1 bra, 2 packets of sanitary pads, 1 dhoti, 1 vest, 1 gamocha, 1 T-shirt, 1 frock for a young girl, 1 T-shirt and pants for a young boy, and 2 pairs of sandals.

The package also included essential hygiene and household supplies such as bleaching powder, phenyl, candles, mosquito coils, bathing soaps, laundry soaps, dishwashing soaps, brooms, and matchboxes, helping families maintain basic hygiene and improve their living conditions during the recovery period.

The Priyobondhu Restoration Project goes beyond immediate emergency relief. The initiative focuses on understanding the specific needs of affected families and providing appropriate support to help them regain stability, dignity, and self-reliance. Through systematic field surveys and need-based assessments, Priyobondhu is identifying requirements ranging from house repairs and financial assistance to education, healthcare, and livelihood restoration.

Priyobondhu remains committed to standing beside flood-affected communities throughout their recovery journey.
