Priyobondhu Reaches Flood Hit Families in Alengmora with Immediate Relief Assistance

As Assam continues to battle one of the most severe flood seasons in recent years, Priyobondhu has once again stepped forward to support communities struggling in the aftermath of the disaster. Since 2015, the organization has remained actively involved in flood relief operations across the state, responding to emergencies with timely humanitarian assistance.
The 2026 floods have caused extensive devastation in several parts of Jorhat and Sivasagar districts. Rising water levels have submerged homes, damaged essential infrastructure, and forced thousands of families to seek shelter in safer locations. Many residents have described the situation as unprecedented, with floodwaters affecting areas that had never experienced such severe inundation before.
Continuing its long-standing mission of serving people in times of crisis, Priyobondhu's volunteers have been working on the ground to provide essential relief to affected families. Food items, drinking water, and other basic necessities are being distributed to ensure that those facing the greatest hardships receive immediate support.
On 23 July 2026, Priyobondhu organized a relief distribution drive in Alengmora, where 70 flood-affected families received emergency relief materials. The initiative brought much-needed assistance to households coping with displacement and the loss of essential belongings.
With flood conditions still posing challenges in many regions, Priyobondhu has reaffirmed its commitment to continuing relief operations and standing beside the people of Assam throughout the recovery process.
