Flood Relief Initiative - September 16, 2020

Villages- No. 2 Aipowali, No. 2 Burijhar, and Tukrajhar, Chirang District, Assam

In response to the devastating floods that struck multiple villages in Chirang District, Priyobondhu extended timely relief to more than 250 affected families across No. 2 Aipowali, No. 2 Burijhar, and Tukrajhar.

Our relief distribution effort was designed to address both immediate nutritional needs and basic hygiene. Each family received a comprehensive relief kit containing-

  1. Food essentials- Rice, pulses, potatoes, mustard oil, biscuits, puffed rice, tea, sugar, salt, and turmeric

  2. Hygiene and health items-Soap, sanitizers, face masks

  3. Clothing- New t-shirts for family members

  4. Women’s care- Sanitary napkins for maintaining menstrual hygiene during crisis

The situation in these flood-affected areas remains deeply challenging, especially for women and children. Our team ensured that the aid reached the most vulnerable families and was distributed with dignity and care.

Priyobondhu remains committed to supporting communities in distress and upholding the values of compassion, solidarity, and timely action.
