September 18, 2016- Health Awareness and Screening Camp - “KNOW CANCER” at Nokhola Grant Basti, Mayong, Jagiroad, Morigaon
A comprehensive cancer awareness and screening program titled KNOW CANCER was conducted at Nokhola Grant Basti, Mayong, Jagiroad in Morigaon district. The initiative aimed to educate and screen the local population for early signs of cancer and other general health concerns.
A total of 161 individuals attended the camp, and each one underwent medical screening. The program was facilitated in collaboration with the National Health Mission (NHM), Morigaon, and was led by a skilled medical team including Dr. Bonsidhar Das (Senior MandHO), Dr. Dichen Bordoloi (Senior MandHO), Dr. B. Sharma (Senior MandHO), and Jufin Sultana, District Program Coordinator (NCD), Morigaon.
Free medicines were distributed to all attendees based on their health assessments. The medications provided covered a range of common ailments and included:
Antacid, Ofloxac, Iron Folic Acid (IFA), Paracetamol, Trimethoprim (TMP), Brufen, B-Complex, Azithromycin, Amoxycillin, Injectable Paracetamol, Injectable Amikacin, Injectable Tramadol, Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS), Injectable Theophylline, and Folic Acid.
This initiative was a vital step towards raising awareness about cancer and ensuring basic healthcare access for underprivileged communities in the region.
