On September 30, 2018, Priyobondhu organized a social awareness program at Dokmoka, Karbi Anglong, to commemorate the tragic loss of Nilotpal Das and Abhijeet Nath, whose lives were lost in the lynching incident. The program was held as a tribute to the departed souls and as a call for social harmony, justice, and collective consciousness.
The event, titled “The Organic Dream,” sought to promote peace, humanity, and awareness against mob violence and misinformation. As part of the program, a book titled “Abiswakhi Xomoy Stabdha Jiwan”, written in memory of Nilotpal Das and Abhijeet Nath, was formally inaugurated. The book reflected on their lives and the larger societal issues surrounding the incident.
The awareness program was followed by a special cultural segment aimed at promoting organic instruments, traditional artistry, and indigenous musical expressions. The performances included-
Tezpuria Thespians - Folk repertoire
The Hostel Boyz - Innovative performances using handmade musical instruments
Lovita JR Morang - Flute instrumental performance
Through meaningful dialogue, artistic expression, and cultural engagement, the program emphasized the importance of empathy, rational thinking, and social responsibility. The initiative reaffirmed Priyobondhu’s commitment to fostering awareness, peace, and cultural values within society.
