September 4, 2016- Health Awareness and Screening Program - K N O W C A N C E R

Venue- Kharjan LP School, Salikihat, Golaghat

Priyobondhu, in association with the National Health Mission (NHM), organized a comprehensive cancer awareness and health screening camp under the banner K N O W C A N C E R at Kharjan LP School, Salikihat, Golaghat. The program aimed to spread awareness on early detection and prevention of cancer, especially among rural and underserved communities.

Over 200 individuals participated in the program, and 144 people underwent screening for various cancer indicators.

The screening was conducted by the NHM medical team under the guidance of Dhrubajyoti Talukdar, District Program Co-ordinator (NCD). The medical check-ups were led by Dr. Partha Gohain, Sr. MHO, Kohora Model Hospital, Bokakhat, and Dr. Nirmali Konwar, MO, NCD Clinic.

The medical team was supported by Rupak Goswami (PSMRI-10, Sanjeevani - VHOP), Mouchumi Saikia (GNM Staff Nurse), Lakhimi Borah (Staff Nurse), Rumee Borah (Staff Nurse), Rekha Borah (Staff Nurse, Dergaon CHC), Pranita Kachari (ANM), Bornali Medhi (Lab Technician), M. Begum (Pharmacist), and the 104 Emergency Response Team.

A total of 7 suspected cases were identified and referred for further medical investigation.

Medicines related to general health ailments were distributed to the participants. These included Paracetamol 500mg, Antacid, ORS, Norflox-TZ, Amoxycillin 1000mg, Cough syrup, Antacid gel, Atenolol 50mg, Losartan, Silver Sulfadiazine cream, Framycetin cream, Povidone-iodine ointment, Salbutamol syrup, Amoxycillin DS syrup, B-complex, and Diclofenac Sodium.

The initiative reflected Priyobondhu’s continued commitment to community wellness, early detection of chronic diseases, and accessible healthcare for all.
