IPWWC - Integrated Program for the Welfare of Women and Children

Celebrating Magh/Bhogali Bihu at Hanuman Nagar Basti Slums, Narengi, Guwahati

As part of our ongoing commitment to uplift marginalized communities under the Integrated Program for the Welfare of Women and Children (IPWWC), we brought the warmth and joy of Magh/Bhogali Bihu to Hanuman Nagar Basti in Narengi, Guwahati.

Amidst the chilly January air, the slum came alive with festive spiritresonating with laughter, vibrant traditions, and the aroma of Assamese delicacies. Children’s faces lit up with excitement, and women from the community came together in celebration, momentarily leaving behind their daily hardships. The event served not just as a cultural gathering, but as a powerful reminder of belonging, dignity, and shared happiness.

By creating moments of joy and cultural pride, Priyobondhu continues to stand alongside the underserved ensuring they are not forgotten, especially during festivals that define our heritage.
